Even if you do not have a Micro:bit at home you can still code using the on screen simulator. There are a selection of very interesting projects with accompanying tutorials for your child to work through.

I Can Animate

This is a fantastic app for doing stop frame animations using lego, play dough or whatever objects you have access to. Start by watching the Lego Movie or Wallace & Gromit for inspiration.

iMovie is Apple's video editing app. It is straight forward to use and can create astonishingly good videos. As well as a range of effects you can also add sound effects and background music.

One of my favourite features of this app is the ability to take a Flyover Tour of key cities. By selecting the Flyover tour you can be taken to the key landmarks and see the layout of the city to area you have chosen.

Google Expeditions is a wonderful app for exploring so may different geographical places and features including under the sea, mountain tops and inside amazing buildings. You can access it on lots of different devices and it always adds that "Wow" factor.
